Assignment Title: Lifecycle Observations

What I learned: This assignment was given to demonstrate the differences in different stages of life. I had to observe two different children’s eating habits and food choices. I had to write an extensive description of what they ate, where, when, with whom, and the actions and behaviors they demonstrated.

Reflection to assignment: This assignment gave me insight into the differences between children. I didn’t realize how much of a difference the eating patterns of a toddler and a preschooler are. I will need to be aware of them. I enjoyed watching the children, and learned a lot from these observations.

Relevance to the profession: This assignment helped me to see that these differences are present, and that as a dietitian, I will need to be aware of them. I also had to discover what to look for during observations, and the importance of remaining anonymous when watching the children. These are all valuable skills that I need to have in the future if I am to learn the most I can.
