 Assignment Title: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point

What I learned: This assignment was helpful in teaching the importance of food safety. I was educated and tested in the different areas of food safety, and instructed on how to determine a hazard analysis critical control point. Once those are determined, steps can be taken to control the hazards in different food service settings.

Reflection to assignment: This assignment was interesting to me. I can see the benefit of knowing more about food safety, and I think it is a component of food service that is often overlooked or undervalued. There are many people working in foodservice today that have never been educated on safety, and I feel privileged to have had such extensive education and testing on it.

Relevance to the profession:  The skills used in this assignment can be extremely vital for the foodservice profession. It is important to have learned food safety skills, and know how to implement them in different foodservice settings. I think every foodservice company should have at least one person working there who ha the ability to determine hazards, and find ways to control them. This could decrease the amount of food born illnesses that occur, and prevent people from getting sicknesses.
