Assignment Title: Case Study

 

What I learned: The case study focused on researching the pathology of the disorder that the patient had been recently diagnosed. I also had to assess the anthropometric measurements of the patient, and then give the proper Medical Nutrition Therapy and write a PES statement for the patient, based on their signs and symptoms.

 

Reflection to assignment: This assignment was helpful because it put to practice the knowledge and information that I had been taught all semester. It is very different to actually be figuring out an individual case than learning general knowledge. After completing the assignment, I felt more confident that, with practice, I could do so in an actual hospital setting as well.

 

Relevance to the profession: Medical nutrition therapy is a major component of the dietetics field, and one that the most dietitians are employed in. Therefore, it is important to learn the skills necessary to succeed in this field. Most dietetic internships have a marger medial nutrition therapy component than any other, and they look for assignments such as this to see that I have had practice in doing
